Alternative to GoHighLevel
The GoHighLevel alternative for digital marketing agencies
Keep GoHighLevel for marketing automation; add Phloz for the tracking-infrastructure map and agency-delivery work it doesn't model.
What you're probably tired of
- A sprawling all-in-one where the funnels, email/SMS, and pipelines are deep but the agency-delivery side (client tasks, approvals, retainer tracking) is thin
- No structured place for each client's tracking setup — GA4 properties, GTM containers, pixels, and conversions still live in a spreadsheet next to GHL
- Finding out a client's conversion tracking broke from their report, not from your tools
- The learning curve and UX overhead of running everything through one heavy platform
What changes on Phloz
- A typed, auditable tracking-infrastructure map per client — every property, container, pixel, and conversion in one place, not a Sheet
- Automated weekly tracking-health audits and a 0–100 score, with a digest that surfaces a broken pixel before the client does
- Delivery-first work management: client- and department-scoped tasks, per-client approval policies, retainer-burn tracking
- A focused, opinionated tool for agency ops and data trust — less to configure than an all-in-one platform
Should you actually switch?
A switch is real cost — a few days of structural mapping, a parallel-running week, training time, and the friction of breaking habits your team has built. Worth it when the new tool meaningfully changes how you work; not worth it when the gain is incremental.
The five signals that you're ready to leave GoHighLevel: (1) you're paying for seats or contacts you don't use, (2) you're running the tracking stack in a separate Sheet because the CRM has nowhere for it, (3) onboarding a new team member takes more than a day because the configuration is tribal knowledge, (4) clients ask "where do I see progress?" and you don't have a clean answer, (5) you're duplicating client data across two or three tools because no single tool fits.
If three of those five describe your agency, the structural upgrade pays back inside a quarter. If only one or two, stay where you are and revisit at the next pricing renewal — switching for marginal gain is usually a worse decision than the marginal gain.
When GoHighLevel is still the right choice
The honest counter-positioning. GoHighLevelisn't wrong for everyone — these are the cases where staying makes more sense than switching. If any of them describe you, weigh the trade carefully before migrating.
- You resell GoHighLevel as your own white-label SaaS (sub-accounts, SaaS mode) — that IS your business model and product. Phloz doesn't do white-label software resale; stay.
- Marketing automation is the service you sell — funnels, landing pages, email/SMS drip, missed-call text-back, reputation management. GHL is purpose-built for this; Phloz integrates with these tools but doesn't replace them.
- You want one platform to run the entire client relationship end to end and are happy trading depth-in-any-one-area for breadth. Phloz is deliberately narrower (agency ops + tracking), not an all-in-one.
- Flat-rate, unlimited-contacts pricing fits your scale better than per-active-client — at very high client counts GHL's flat rate can be the cheaper model.
Migration: what to plan for
This is usually NOT a rip-and-replace. GoHighLevel and Phloz solve different jobs — GHL runs client marketing automation and (for many agencies) resells software to clients; Phloz documents the tracking and runs delivery. Most teams keep GHL for what it's best at and add Phloz for the tracking map + delivery layer. If you do move client/CRM records over, export contacts and opportunities from GHL to CSV and import via Phloz workspace import; funnels, email/SMS automations, and white-label sub-accounts have no Phloz equivalent and stay in GHL.
The structural rethink — mapping GoHighLevel's shape to Phloz's opinionated agency model — takes longer than the data move. Read the marketing agency CRM buyer's guide for the six capabilities that should drive the decision, and the pricing page to run the per-active-client math at your client count.
GoHighLevel migration FAQ
The three questions agency owners ask before signing the switch decision. Honest answers — same data we'd give a friend evaluating the move.
- Is Phloz a GoHighLevel replacement?
- For most agencies, no — it's a complement. GoHighLevel is a marketing-automation and white-label resale platform; Phloz is a tracking-infrastructure and agency-delivery layer. They overlap on "CRM + client management," but Phloz adds the typed tracking map, automated tracking-health audits, and delivery-shaped work management that GHL doesn't model, while GHL keeps funnels, email/SMS automation, and SaaS resale that Phloz doesn't do. Many teams run both.
- Can I run GoHighLevel and Phloz together?
- Yes, and that's the common pattern. Keep GHL for client marketing automation (and, if you resell it, your SaaS sub-accounts); use Phloz for documenting each client's tracking setup, catching broken pixels, and managing delivery work, approvals, and retainers. Leads captured in GHL can be created as Phloz clients when they convert.
- Does Phloz do funnels, email/SMS automation, or white-label software resale?
- No — those are GoHighLevel's core strengths and out of scope for Phloz. Phloz white-labels the client PORTAL (your name, logo, domain), but it is not a funnel builder, a marketing-automation engine, or a platform for reselling software to your clients. If those are what you need, GHL is the right tool.
What you keep when you migrate
The honest list of what survives the move from GoHighLevel. Your client list and contact records (CSV import). Your active tasks and their assignees, statuses, due dates (CSV import). Your custom fields, on clients and tasks (mapped to Phloz custom fields during import). Your inbound email addresses if you set up forwarding (re-pointed at the per-client Phloz inbound addresses).
What doesn't survive: historical activity logs older than what you'd realistically reference (most agencies discover they don't open activity from before the last quarter). Bespoke automation rules built on GoHighLevel's specific automation engine — these need to be re-expressed in Phloz's patterns (recurring tasks, status hooks, inbound thread routing) or offloaded to Inngest / Zapier. Time entries stay in your time-tracking tool of record (Phloz integrates rather than re-imports).
The trade is a lighter, more opinionated tool that runs your agency's shape natively — at the cost of some per-tool customisation that, in retrospect, was usually a workaround for a missing primitive. See agency project management software for the broader buyer's guide on what to evaluate alongside this switch decision.

The Phloz vs GoHighLevel comparison covers what each tool does, what each doesn't, and when GoHighLevelis the right choice — for the cases where you're evaluating rather than already unhappy.
